Dear Friends of HKBN
HKBN Growth Mode Part 3 of 3: Nurturing 105 Young Summer Talents
In Part 1 and Part 2 of this series, we revealed how HKBN has continued our expansion over the past 6 months with numerous promotions and elite new management hires across-the-board – in spite of such challenging times. And now for Part 3, we’re thrilled to share that 92 Summer Associates and 13 Summer Innovators have begun their 3-month journey with us. Embodying our long-term infinite mindset, this summer engagement will help seed our growth many years down the road.
Similar to how we initially connected with many of our executives today such as Elinor Shiu (Chief Marketing Officer, Residential Solutions), Samuel Hui (Chief Transformation Officer), Annie Chan (Head of Customer Engagement, Residential Solutions) and Mingo Tsang (Director – Retail & Strategic Projects, Enterprise Solutions) – all Co-Owners and senior executives in our management team who started as interns or fresh graduate Trainees – our Summer Innovator and Graduate Trainee programmes are designed to hire our CXOs of the future. With this in mind, we’ve continued to invest heavily on giving young Talents a range of absolutely eye-opening exposures (from 1:1 mentoring/shadowing opportunities with our elite 1% leaders, and the chance to meet and learn from top industry captains/entrepreneurs, to unique job experiences which challenge ‘bean counter’ culture) that are meant to unleash, rather than constrain, their career potential.
Over the years, we’ve built a phenomenal reputation for our Summer Innovator programme – which is why we attracted over 2,500 applicants for 13 slots this summer. And in direct response to the economic fallout of COVID-19, we hired an extra 92 fresh university grads as part of our #ToughTimesTogether initiative so that they could quickly step into working life and enjoy the same development exposures as our Summer Innovators.
“Tomorrow’s young Talents will be shaped by how they’ve been developed and encouraged today. Young Talents can fly extremely high if we support them in finding their wings. We also hope this programme can be a catalyst for other employers to make similar commitments for new graduates.”
