HKBN takes over Vietnam's Ben Thanh Street Food Market

Much more than a typical offsite reward trip, our decade-plus tradition of experiential trips happens annually for managerial and above level executives from both the back end and the front line. What sets these trips apart is the desire to try extraordinary experiences beyond what our team would likely attempt if they travelled on their own. Named the InnoVIETour, this year's trip gave our 104 management team participants the chance to test their on-the-fly street smarts and off-the-cuff innovation for 10 stalls at the open air Ben Thanh Street Food Market. Our Talents showcased their ingenuity by whipping up an array of very cool customer-tempting ideas that resulted in a 44% sales upturn overnight!

In addition, as a company passionate about 'Making Our Hong Kong a Better Place to Live', we were honoured to have John Wood, Co-founder of world-prominent NGO Room to Read, join us in Vietnam to share insights about how purpose and profits can be complementary rather than contradictory for business. Thanks to this wisdom sharing session, our management team got to reflect and nudge themselves forward to continue integrating purpose into HKBN's operations. By the end of the day, so encouraged were we that our management team personally donated about US$67,000 towards building a school for girls.
