HKBN Launches “Digital Inclusion Broadband Gift Programme”

1,000 Underprivileged Families to Receive Free 2-Year 1Gbps Internet Service

Today, we proudly announced our “Digital Inclusion Broadband Gift Programme”, an initiative providing 1,000 eligible underprivileged individuals and families with two years of complimentary 1Gbps home broadband service¹. This initiative underscores HKBN’s mission to bridge the digital divide and foster social inclusion by ensuring equitable access to high-speed connectivity.

Collaboration with SPOs for Community Empowerment

HKBN has partnered with eight leading social profit organisations (SPOs) to implement the programme, including Caritas Youth and Community Service, Christian Family Service Centre, Hong Kong Blind Union, Hong Kong Christian Service, Hong Kong Family Welfare Society, Hong Kong Playground Association, St. James’ Settlement, and Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service – Hong Kong.

From now until 15 August, these partner organisations will enroll eligible families and individuals in need.

A Legacy of Advancing Digital Equity

With an unwavering commitment to social responsibility, we have continuously leveraged our technological leadership to bridge the digital divide. Notable past initiatives include:

2020 #ToughTimesTogether Campaign: Waived one month of service fees for all HKBN and HKBNES customers during the pandemic, and provided free 2-year broadband to 10,000 underprivileged families.
2023 HKBN SPO IT Club: Delivered free cybersecurity and IT training sessions and consultations to accelerate digital transformation for nearly 100 SPOs, as well as empowered almost 10,000 employees from SPOs with free phishing e-mail assessments.
Ongoing HKBN PC Doctor Programme: Providing free computer repairs and digital skills workshops to (nearly 1,000 to date) seniors and low-income households, equipping them to thrive in the digital age.
