Dear Friends of HKBN
Hanging out with HK's World Class Champion – Rex Tso
At HKBN, we love being inspired by exceptional people. That's why, from time to time, we invite overachieving individuals to share their experiences with our colleagues. Recently, we were honored to host Hong Kong's very own boxing "wonder kid", Rex Tso Sing-yu (曹星如). At 27, Rex is already Hong Kong's most successful boxer and remains undefeated with a professional record of 14-0-0 (9 Knock Outs). Separated only by a couple of fights from a world title bout, Tso is spectacularly poised to become the next featherweight world champion.
For HKBN, there's nothing we enjoy more than a good old Hong Kong success story. Born and raised in Tuen Mun, just 20 minutes away from our Kwai Chung office, Rex began competing relatively late at 15. Even then, he never took boxing seriously and barely trained hard: "I was lazy," said Rex. "Boxing is hard work! Why put yourself through so much pain?" Early on, Rex enjoyed mixed success, but along the way, he found the right path and since 2008 has taken the boxing world by storm with 14 consecutive wins.
Alvin Leung from HKBN Finance Department, who chaired the panel discussion, said "Rex's story is all about how an ordinary boy became a world-class champion through determination and guidance from his coach. It's a great story to inspire Hong Kong people to live out their dreams."
