The winning formula in an Elite Sports Team always begins with exceptional leaders, excellent Talent-athletes, and KickAss team chemistry. On the left, Stephen (holding the selfie phone) is joined by our Network and Technology team; on the right, Sophia (seated right) is joined by some of her teammates.

Dear Friends of HKBN
Welcome Sophia and Stephen to our Elite Sports Team
At HKBN, we are an Elite Sports Team rather than a Family. As an Elite Sports Team we offer conditional love based on performance, whereas in a Family unconditional love is offered based on birth right. We exit the bottom 5% of our salary base for the lowest performers each year, so that we can focus on enhancing the top 95%. We’d rather focus our limited resources on upgrading B Talents to A+ performers than turning around D grade players to C grade. With regards to our culture, we want people to either “love us or hate us; just don’t be indifferent”. If you are passionate about our Core Purpose of “Make our Home a Better Place to Live”, then come join our Elite Sports Team; otherwise, please find a better match elsewhere.
Based on the above, we are pleased to welcome elite athletes Sophia and Stephen into our HKBN Elite Sport Team.
“HKBN has amazingly great Talents, an inspiring culture, and a clear purpose. I look forward to contributing as a member of this silo-less and passionate Elite Sports Team, enabling changes which can create even greater value, benefit our communities and do well together.”
Sophia Yap, Co-Owner to-be and General Counsel
“I love HKBN’s culture of rewarding performance and purpose. It means I’m joining a team that’s driven, hungry and passionate. These Talents will play key roles in our vision to make HKBN’s network and technology best-in-class.”
Stephen Lau, Co-Owner to-be and Deputy Chief Technology Officer
“As an Elite Sports Team, Talents – more so than just technology – are the driving force behind HKBN’s success. We always aim to attract only the best to join us and generate Purposeful profits together.”
Adele Chu, Co-Owner and Associate Director – Talent & Organisation Development
