With tremendous pride and satisfaction, we announced today that HKBN has been rated the fastest broadband provider in Hong Kong according to Speedtest by Ookla, a global leader in Internet performance testing and metrics.
According to Speedtest’s Market Report on Hong Kong published this month, Hong Kong ranks third in the world for broadband Internet download speed between Q4 2016 - Q1 2017, achieving an average speed of 142.65 Mbps.
In comparing the performance of Hong Kong's four major broadband service providers, Speedtest asserts that HKBN’s speeds are “unmatched in the market”. Our service boasts an average upload speed of 544.18 Mbps and an average download speed of 544.07 Mbps, vastly faster than other ISPs in Hong Kong.
When analysing Hong Kong’s overall performance, the average speed is used to represent the experience of a typical consumer in Hong Kong. To compare the performance of Internet service providers, Speedtest uses the top 10% of each ISP’s Speedtest results, aiming to provide an accurate view of the top-end performance of each ISP. Speedtest is a globally popular way of measuring Internet connection speed. Insights from Speedtest Report are based on the actual Internet speeds experienced by hundreds of millions of consumers around the world.
