At HKBN, we run a monthly “Inspired Series” for our fellow HKBNers and Friends of HKBN, inviting special guest speakers – extraordinary people with diverse backgrounds and achievements of every kind – to help push our own personal and corporate limits. Recently, we hosted Hong Kong’s own intrepid adventurer Rob Lilwall, who joined us for a captivating talk about Leading Change, sharing life lessons learnt from a 3-year 50,000 km cycling expedition that began in Siberia and ended in the UK.
A former secondary school geography teacher from London, Rob, decided that instead of just teaching about the world, he would venture to experience it first-hand. Through a larger-than-life journey that started in the frozen tundra of Siberia in 2004, Rob pedaled across 28 countries over a span of 3 years. The risks he had to overcome along the way, makes our corporate challenges seem rather pedestrian – underscoring why our attendees came away more inspired to achieve greater things.
